Our Christmas Trip

Yes ya gotta get strapped in Talya.

The weather was IFR for the first 45 min or so and we had a stop in TN to meet a friend.

We picked up Rebecka in TN and offered a ride to Ashville.

Had a great flight.  It was IMC most of the way but had a great tailwind.  I briefly saw 220knots on the ground speed. That worked out to 253 MPH. I dont think I have ever had that fast of a ground speed flying a vans airplane.

From Ashville on to Virginia had a smooth non-eventful flight.

below you can see both of them fast asleep.

Georgiana has never been able to play in the snow. She was intrigued when she looked out the window.

This is what we saw.

We got the snowboard out and took it for a slide.

I took some locals on a ride to see the snow.

Flew around a ski slope.

Went over into West Virginia looking at the mountains.

Got a picture from a RV-12 pilot thanks Alex!

Beautiful day

Made a short flight today and the air was so clear. It is not very often that it looks like this. A front moved through and washed out the atmosphere a day or so ago.

Note: this was so taken with my phone camera so you know it looked good in real life.

200 MPH Christmas cheese ball express delivery!!

This is not really a practical means of cheese ball delivery but.......it is one way of doing it.

Another day in the soup

When you are flying IFR a lot of times the pilots call it "Soup".

Took of this morning for Meridian, MS a short flight but had to file a flight plan and shoot the approach.

Was a great flight and got to see some friends there and take some interested parties on a RV-10 Demo ride.

Was another great day in the air!

The plane now has over 215hrs on it.

Post Updates

We really have been getting a lot of use out of the airplane now and I have not posted much recently.

As of today it has over 200 hrs on it and has been to.

Oshkosh, Wi
Penn Yan, NY
Harisonburg, VA
Sturgis, MI

and many more places.

Today I took it to Hattieburg, MS and back.

It was raining and low ceilings so an IFR clearance was needed for departure and we flew the approach to HBG.

On the way home things were cleared up some.

Dialysis Needs

We had a reunion over Thanksgiving weekend and one of the family is on a dialysis machine for 2 hrs every day.
The family member is from Kokomo, IN and the reunion was in TN.
On Saturday afternoon he tried 2 times to hook up the machine and both attempts failed.  This was the last of the disposable paraphanelia used to hook it all up and the only option was to head home.
I offered to take him back with the machine on Sunday morning so that he would be able to stay and and at least take in Saturday evening.
He jumped on my offer like a Hobo on a hotdog.
